Meet Nina Singh First Woman Director General of CISF

Nina Singh became the first Woman Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

She has been holding the additional charge of CISF DG since the superannuation of Sheel Vardhan Singh on August 31 this year.

Nina Singh belongs to Darbhanga, Bihar . She has completed her Higher education from Patna Women’s College & Jawaharlal Nehru University. Apart from this she also holds Master’s Degree in Public Administration From Havard University USA.

She had started her career as an IPS officer. A 1989 batch IPS officer, Rajasthan Cadre initially Joined Manipur Cadre Officer later on she had been moved to Rajasthan Cadre. In the 34 years of Service she had received awards & Title Also.

She is the recipient of President’s Police Medal for his immense service & also “ATI UTKRIST SEVA MEDAL”.

Officer Nina Singh joined CISF as Additional DG, and now she has been made Director General of CISF. She is the first Woman to Become CISF Director General.

The officer was accorded a guard of honour before she formally took charge at the CISF headquarters at Lodhi Road in Delhi. Her husband, IAS officer and Union consumer affairs secretary Rohit Kumar Singh, was present.
